BOFFO is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 that presents innovative experimental art and free public programs that celebrate the work of artists who identify as LGBTQ and BIPOC in New York City and Fire Island Pines. BOFFO hosts a summer residency program in the Fire Island Pines in which artists are awarded a three-week stay on island to make, create and relax with their collaborators and friends. BOFFO presents an annual Performance Festival on the beach at Fire Island Pines.
The BOFFO Fall Benefit Exhibition aims to raise critical funds that will bolster the BOFFO Residency Fire Island, now in its 13th year, and the BOFFO Performance Festival Fire Island, going into its 10th year. Proceeds from the sale will also expand new programming potential. All participating artists are offered up to 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their work. With support from the artists, galleries of participating artists and collectors alike, this fundraising effort allows BOFFO to radically shift the creative landscape of Fire Island and beyond.
