
In 2022, Stephen Truax created Truax Art Advisory to connect the most significant artists working today with collectors, museums, and nonprofit organizations.
With over fifteen years of experience in the art world, Stephen has been curating exhibitions and working with artists in New York and Berlin. Before founding Truax Art Advisory, Stephen was a director at Cheim & Read in New York from 2015 to 2022, and specialized in Modern and contemporary art from 1958 to the present.
Stephen has curated exhibitions for the RISD Museum of Art (Providence, RI), Yossi Milo Gallery (New York), and Regina Rex (New York), among others. He co-edited the 2023 Frick Collection publication, Living Histories: Queer Views and Old Masters, and his writing has been published in Hyperallergic, Artsy, and The Brooklyn Rail.
Stephen’s work as an artist has been exhibited at The FLAG Art Foundation (New York), the Tang Museum (Saratoga Springs, NY), and the Long Island Museum (Stony Brook, NY). He has been a visiting artist at Cranbrook Academy (Bloomfield Hills, MI) and RISD.
